Marketing for Coaches and Consultants: Build a Pipeline Beyond Referrals

How coaches, consultants, speakers and authors can build a steady client pipeline with a personal brand site, lead magnets, AI video and automated onboarding.

Most coaches and consultants start with referrals. They're the best clients you'll ever get, but they don't arrive on schedule. A simple marketing engine fills the gaps between them.

1. A personal brand site that sounds like you

You are the product, so your website should feel like a conversation with you. It needs:

  • A clear statement of who you help and the result they get
  • Your story, told briefly
  • Offers with outcomes, formats and next steps
  • Proof: testimonials, logos, results, media
  • One main call to action, usually "Book a call"

That's the core of what we build for coaches, consultants and authors.

2. Give something valuable away

A lead magnet earns an email address in exchange for real value: a checklist, a short course, a quiz, a webinar or a challenge. The best ones solve one small problem and point to the bigger one you solve in paid work. Build it as a simple funnel with a follow-up email sequence.

3. Show up on video without filming every week

Video builds trust faster than anything else, but filming and editing eat time. Two options:

  • Batch-record once a month and let AI video editing cut it into weekly clips
  • Use an AI avatar of yourself to present book trailers, lesson intros and promos from a script, even in other languages

4. Connect your tools

Calendly, Stripe, email, your course platform and your CRM should talk to each other. When someone books and pays, they should get a welcome email, an intake form and a calendar invite without you lifting a finger. That's what automation is for.

5. Write what your clients ask

Every question you answer on a call is a blog post or short video. Publishing them builds search traffic and gives AI assistants something to quote when people ask for recommendations. See our guide to AI search.

6. Launching a book?

A book launch needs a book page, a pre-order funnel, trailer videos and launch ads. Plan it eight to twelve weeks out and collect emails from day one.

7. Measure what produces clients

Track where each booked call came from. If most clients come from podcasts, do more podcasts. If they come from your email list, grow the list.
