Your website is often the first conversation a customer has with your business. If it's slow, confusing or hard to use on a phone, they'll leave and probably won't come back. Here are seven mistakes we see constantly, and how to fix them.
1. It's slow
More than half of visitors leave a mobile page that takes over three seconds to load. Compress images, use modern formats like WebP and AVIF, and choose a fast hosting platform. Check your Core Web Vitals in Google Search Console.
2. The headline says nothing
"Welcome to our website" tells visitors nothing. Your main headline should say what you do, who it's for and why it matters, in one line.
3. No clear call to action
Every page should have one obvious next step, such as "Book a call", "Get a quote" or "Shop now". If visitors have to hunt for it, most won't.
4. It's not built for mobile
Most traffic is mobile. Buttons should be easy to tap, text readable without zooming, and forms short. Test your site on a real phone, not just a resized browser.
5. Contact details are hidden
Put your phone number, email or WhatsApp link where people expect it: the header, the footer and the contact page. Make it a tap-to-call link on mobile.
6. No social proof
Reviews, client logos and case studies reassure visitors that you're legitimate and good at what you do. Add them near your calls to action.
7. It ignores SEO
A beautiful site nobody can find doesn't help. Every page needs a unique title tag, a meta description, a logical heading structure and descriptive URLs. Try our free meta tag generator and SERP preview tool to get started.
